Research Ethics Committee

University Ethics Committee is an expert, specialized and independent body which reviews research proposals to protect the rights, safety, and well-being of human participants. It ensures that projects stick to the ethical principles—such as autonomy, beneficence, and justice—as well as legal, regulatory, and scientific standards. The committee will have a tenure of 3 years from the date of issue of this notification. Following is the constitution of the committee: -

Terms of Reference of the Committee

  • Protocol Review: To evaluate research proposals to ensure ethical standards are met before studies begin.
  • Informed Consent: To ensure participants are well informed and voluntarily agree to participate.
  • Risk-Benefit Analysis: To assess, whether expected benefits from research justify risks or hardships to the participants.
  • Monitoring: To monitor approved research projects for ongoing ethical compliance.
  • Education: To train researchers, staff, and students on ethical guidelines.
  • Autonomy: To respect the rights and dignity of individuals.
  • Justice: To ensure fair distribution of research risks and benefits.
